ISLAMABAD
A cyberattack has reportedly targeted the UAE’s Port of Fujairah, with hackers claiming to have stolen more than 430,000 confidential documents related to shipping, finance, and infrastructure operations.
According to Iranian media reports, the operation has been attributed to a group identified as Hanzala hacker group, which alleged it carried out a coordinated cyber intrusion into the port’s digital systems.
The group claims the extracted data includes sensitive operational and financial records, raising concerns over potential security vulnerabilities in one of the region’s key energy and shipping hubs.
Reports suggest the stolen documents could be used to facilitate targeted actions against critical infrastructure, although independent verification of these claims remains limited.
In statements attributed to the group, the hackers warned that cooperation between the UAE, the United States, and Israel is under close observation and could lead to further cyber repercussions.
Authorities in the UAE have not yet publicly confirmed the extent of the breach, and it remains unclear how deeply the systems were compromised.
Cybersecurity experts note that if confirmed, the incident could have significant implications for maritime security and digital infrastructure protection in the Gulf region, highlighting growing risks of cyber warfare targeting strategic assets.
