Pakistan’s IT Exports Hit Record $4.5 Billion as Firms Expand Beyond US, Europe
ISLAMABAD
Pakistan’s IT exports climbed to a record $4.5 billion in fiscal year 2025-26, marking a sharp increase from $3.475 billion a year earlier, as the country’s digital economy expanded beyond its traditional dependence on the United States and European markets.
Data compiled by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed uninterrupted growth in IT exports throughout the fiscal year, driven by rising global demand for Pakistan’s digital services and the rapid expansion of high-growth segments including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and gaming.
Pakistani small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are increasingly targeting Asia-Pacific markets such as Japan and Singapore, broadening their international footprint and diversifying revenue streams beyond Western economies.
The industry’s growth has been supported by Pakistan’s young, skilled and cost-competitive workforce, enabling local technology firms to serve global clients across multiple sectors.
“This strong momentum reflects sustained global demand for Pakistan’s digital services and highlights a growing industry focus on building resilient, multi-market revenue streams,” said Nagesh Devata, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Payoneer.
As companies expand into new markets, cross-border payment management has emerged as a key operational challenge. Financial technology providers are responding by offering multi-currency payment solutions that allow Pakistani exporters to receive and manage payments in major global currencies, supporting the country’s accelerating digital export growth.
