NADRA Launches New Website with Online CNIC Verification and Digital Services

Islamabad

Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority has unveiled a revamped digital platform, introducing online CNIC verification and integrated identity services in a major push toward e-governance.

The new website marks a shift from traditional, paper-based processes to a fully digital and user-friendly system, enabling citizens to access a wide range of services from a single platform.

One-Window Access to Identity Services

The upgraded portal provides streamlined access to key services including:

  • CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card)
  • NICOP (Overseas Pakistanis ID)
  • POC (Pakistan Origin Card)
  • FRC (Family Registration Certificate)

Officials said the move is aimed at simplifying procedures and reducing the need for physical visits to NADRA offices.

Online Verification Now Available

A key highlight of the platform is the digital verification system, allowing users to verify CNICs and other identity documents online.

The system is expected to support banks, telecom companies and government institutions by offering faster and more secure identity verification services.

Smart Data and Mapping Features

The website also integrates advanced tools, including:

  • Interactive maps for demographic data
  • District-level statistics and comparisons
  • Access to civil registration records

These features aim to improve transparency and provide valuable insights for policymakers and researchers.

Boost for Overseas Pakistanis

The platform offers enhanced support for overseas Pakistanis, making it easier to apply for NICOP and POC without visiting consulates or registration centres.

Toward a Digital Identity Ecosystem

Officials say the initiative is part of NADRA’s broader strategy to build a modern biometric identity system, improving efficiency, accessibility and service delivery across Pakistan.

Analysts note that the move could significantly accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward a fully digital governance framework, reducing delays and enhancing citizen convenience.
