Help at Your Fingertips:Punjab Unveils ‘Batao Maryam Ko’ for Disabled

LAHORE

The Punjab government has launched a new digital platform, “Batao Maryam Ko,” aimed at supporting persons with disabilities through easier access to assistive services and welfare support.

The app allows users to apply for essential items such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and other assistive equipment directly from their homes, streamlining access to government assistance.

Developed as part of Punjab’s broader digital governance push, the platform connects citizens with relevant departments, enabling faster response, real-time tracking, and improved service delivery.

Officials said the initiative is designed to ensure inclusivity by bringing previously underserved communities into the digital system, particularly individuals who face mobility and accessibility challenges.

The platform builds on the existing “Maryam Ko Batayn” system, which offers complaint registration, welfare services, and direct communication with authorities through a unified digital interface.

Experts say the move reflects a growing shift toward tech-driven social welfare, where mobile platforms are increasingly used to deliver targeted support and improve transparency.

Authorities added that the initiative could significantly enhance accessibility, reduce bureaucratic delays, and create new opportunities for people with disabilities to receive timely assistance.
