Taiwanese tech giant Acer has introduced a new 5G-enabled tablet under its Iconia series, signaling the company’s renewed push into the growing Android tablet market focused on productivity and entertainment.
The newly launched Acer Iconia iM11-22M5G comes with an 11.45-inch 2.2K IPS display, support for 5G connectivity, and Android 15, targeting users seeking a portable device for work, streaming and creative tasks.
According to product details released in India, the tablet features a 90Hz refresh rate display with up to 450 nits brightness, alongside a metal chassis measuring 7.85mm thick. The device is powered by a MediaTek octa-core chipset built on a 6nm architecture and includes 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage expandable through microSD support.
Acer has also positioned the tablet as a productivity-focused device by adding support for an active stylus with 4,096 pressure levels and an optional keyboard cover, allowing the device to function as a lightweight laptop alternative for students and remote workers.
The tablet packs a 7,400mAh battery with 18W charging support and includes quad speakers, dual SIM compatibility, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a fingerprint scanner. Camera hardware includes a 16MP rear sensor paired with a 2MP macro lens, while the front houses an 8MP camera for video calls and online meetings.
The launch reflects a broader resurgence in the Android tablet segment, where manufacturers are increasingly focusing on affordable large-screen devices equipped with 5G connectivity and productivity features. Industry observers note that demand for hybrid work and study devices continues to rise across emerging markets, including South Asia.
Acer has priced the tablet aggressively in the Indian market, where it is currently retailing at a promotional price significantly lower than its official listed retail value, intensifying competition in the mid-range Android tablet category.
The company has not yet announced official availability for Pakistan, though the launch is likely to draw attention from consumers looking for affordable 5G-capable tablets as Pakistan gradually moves toward wider commercial 5G deployment.
