Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has quietly introduced the new Vivo S50t, offering a slightly toned-down version of its flagship S50 with one key internal change.
According to reports, the only notable difference between the S50t and the standard S50 lies in storage technology. The S50t uses UFS 3.1 storage instead of the faster UFS 4.1 found in the original model—a downgrade that may have minimal impact on everyday performance but helps reduce cost.
Despite this change, the device retains flagship-level specifications. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, ensuring high-end performance for most users.
The smartphone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals and a premium viewing experience.
On the camera front, the S50t includes a triple rear setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. A 50MP front camera is also included for selfies and video calls.
The device is backed by a large 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support, positioning it as a strong contender in the high-performance smartphone segment.
Priced slightly lower than the standard S50, the S50t reflects a growing trend among smartphone makers to release near-identical variants with small compromises to target more price-sensitive users.
Industry analysts say such “minor downgrade” models allow brands to expand their lineup without significantly increasing development costs, while giving consumers more flexible pricing options.
