Huawei has introduced its new MatePad Pro Max tablet globally, featuring a premium ultra-thin design, high-end hardware, and AI-powered productivity tools as competition intensifies in the flagship tablet market.

The new tablet comes with a 13.2-inch flexible OLED PaperMatte display offering a 144Hz refresh rate, 1600 nits peak brightness, and a near bezel-less design aimed at both entertainment and professional use.

Huawei says the MatePad Pro Max is only 4.7mm thick and weighs as little as 499 grams, making it one of the thinnest and lightest 13-inch tablets currently available.

The device features 12GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, a 10,400mAh battery, and support for 66W fast charging alongside 40W reverse charging capabilities.

On the camera side, the tablet includes a 50MP rear camera system and a 12MP front camera, while Huawei has also integrated six speakers powered by Huawei Sound for enhanced multimedia performance.

The MatePad Pro Max runs on HarmonyOS 4.3 and introduces PC-level multitasking features, AI-powered WPS Office tools, and support for accessories such as the Glide Keyboard and M-Pencil Pro to target productivity-focused users.

Analysts say Huawei is increasingly positioning its premium tablets as alternatives to Apple’s iPad Pro lineup by focusing on ultra-thin designs, OLED displays, AI software integration, and professional creative tools.
