Islamabad
The Higher Education Commission Pakistan has announced a major digital reform, shifting its degree attestation system entirely online and eliminating the need for applicants to visit HEC offices.
Paperless System Introduced
Under the new initiative, HEC has launched a paperless e-attestation system, allowing students and graduates to apply for degree verification through its official website.
The system will become fully operational from April 30, marking a significant step toward digitising public services in Pakistan.
End of Physical Visits
Officials confirmed that applicants will no longer be required to submit physical documents or appear in person. Instead:
- Applications will be submitted online
- Verification will be processed digitally
- Certificates will be issued electronically
The new e-attestation certificate will serve as a valid digital proof of verified academic credentials.
Online Payments Enabled
The commission has also enabled online fee payments via OneLink, making the process faster and more accessible for users across the country.
Previously registered users can access the new service using their existing login credentials.
Boost to Digital Governance
The move is part of HEC’s broader effort to promote e-governance, transparency, and efficiency in academic services.
Analysts say the transition will significantly reduce processing delays, paperwork, and logistical challenges—especially for applicants living in remote areas.
A Step Toward Modernisation
With the launch of a fully digital attestation system, Pakistan joins a growing number of countries adopting paperless verification mechanisms, streamlining access to education-related services.
