RIYADH

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity and protect cyberspace and critical national interests of both countries.

The agreement was signed between Saudi Arabia’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) and Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and NCA Governor Engineer Majed Al-Mazyed signed the agreement, marking a step towards closer collaboration between the two countries in the digital security sector.

Under the agreement, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will cooperate in addressing emerging cyber threats, including through the exchange of expertise and knowledge in cybersecurity.

The two sides will also work to enhance international cooperation in the field of cyber security and strengthen their ability to safeguard cyberspace and shared strategic interests.

The agreement comes as both countries seek to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies and build stronger defences against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
