ISLAMABAD

Jazz has become the first telecom operator in Pakistan to reach 1,000 live 5G sites, expanding its next-generation network to 10 cities as the company accelerates investment in the country’s digital infrastructure.

The milestone, announced on August 27, marks what Jazz describes as the fastest 5G rollout in Pakistan and gives the operator the country’s largest 5G network footprint. The company plans to increase its 5G sites to 2,500 by the end of 2026.

Jazz initially launched 5G across nearly 180 sites in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and Faisalabad. Its network has since expanded in these markets and reached Sialkot and Gujranwala, taking its 5G presence to 10 cities.

Kazim Mujtaba, President of Jazz GSM, said the company’s next target was to reach 2,500 sites by year-end, with the rollout focused on greater network capacity, faster speeds and more reliable connectivity.

Jazz said its 5G expansion is supported by additional spectrum secured in Pakistan’s 2026 auction. The operator acquired 190 MHz across four bands — 700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz and 3500 MHz — bringing its total spectrum holdings to 284.4 MHz.

The company is also backing the expansion with a $1 billion investment commitment announced after the spectrum auction. According to Jazz, the commitment brings its total investment in Pakistan to $12 billion to date.

Jazz said the expanded network is intended to support growing 5G demand while creating capacity for new digital services and use cases across Pakistan.
