Huge Rise in Young People Looking for Jobs as National Job Portal Crosses 27.5 Million Visitors

ISLAMABAD

Pakistan’s National Job Portal (NJP) has crossed 27.5 million unique visitors, highlighting a sharp rise in public interest in digital recruitment as millions of job seekers turn to the government-backed platform to find and apply for employment opportunities.

According to official figures, the portal has received more than 7.1 million job applications, while 1,562,595 candidates have registered on the platform and submitted an equal number of resumes.

The NJP has so far hosted advertisements for more than 1,200 job openings, with 185 public and private-sector employers registered on the platform. More than 22,999 vacancies have also been archived.

The figures point to growing reliance on online recruitment, particularly for government jobs, where millions of applications are now being submitted digitally instead of through traditional paper-based processes.

Developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), the National Job Portal serves as a central digital platform for searching and applying for government employment.

The portal hosts vacancies from various ministries and government departments, allowing candidates to submit applications online and enabling institutions to publish job advertisements through a unified system.

The NJP is hosted at the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) data centre, providing the digital infrastructure for the country’s centralised government recruitment platform.

The surge in visitors and applications underscores the growing demand for digital public services in Pakistan and the increasing role of technology in connecting job seekers with employment opportunities.

Officials say the platform is designed to make recruitment more accessible, transparent and efficient by bringing government vacancies and applications under a single digital roof.
