The Punjab government has opened online registration for its latest auction of premium vehicle registration number plates, allowing motorists to bid for VIP numbers through a digital platform without visiting government offices.

The registration process, managed through the e-Auction mobile application and web portal, will remain open until August 30, according to the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The digital auction covers premium registration numbers for motorcycles, private cars, and commercial vehicles.

Developed jointly by the PITB and the Punjab Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, the platform is designed to digitize the auction process, enabling citizens to participate remotely while enhancing transparency and efficiency. Details of successful bidders will be published on the platform following the auction.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the initiative leverages digital technology to provide a secure, seamless and transparent bidding process, adding that the online system is intended to improve service delivery, strengthen governance and make public services more accessible to citizens.

The launch forms part of the Punjab government’s broader digital transformation agenda, which aims to expand technology-driven public services and reduce reliance on in-person administrative procedures.
