PTA, TikTok Hold Workshop on Community Guidelines to Boost Online Safety

ISLAMABAD

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in collaboration with TikTok, held a Community Guidelines Training Workshop in Islamabad, bringing together more than 100 participants from government institutions, academia, civil society, and the digital sector to strengthen awareness of online safety and responsible digital engagement.

The workshop featured experts from TikTok’s Trust and Safety team, who provided detailed training on the platform’s Community Guidelines, content moderation policies, reporting mechanisms, and measures designed to enhance user safety.

Addressing the participants, PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, HI (M), SI, said that building a safe, trusted, and responsible digital environment requires sustained collaboration between regulators, digital platforms, and other stakeholders.

The session also served as a platform for discussions on emerging challenges in Pakistan’s digital ecosystem, with participants exchanging views on online safety, responsible use of digital platforms, and best practices for promoting a secure online environment.

The initiative underscores PTA’s ongoing efforts to work with global digital platforms and relevant stakeholders to promote digital literacy, strengthen online safety, and foster a more inclusive and responsible digital ecosystem in Pakistan.
