Vivo Y600 Turbo Set to Shake Up Smartphone Market With Massive 9,000mAh Battery

Vivo is preparing to launch its new Y600 Turbo smartphone with an enormous 9,000mAh-class battery, positioning the device as one of the longest-lasting mainstream smartphones in the market.

Technology reports indicate the Vivo Y600 Turbo will feature a battery capacity of around 9,020mAh, nearly double the size found in many flagship smartphones currently available globally.

The device is expected to target heavy users, gamers and consumers seeking extended battery endurance without relying on power banks or frequent charging. Analysts say the growing demand for larger batteries reflects changing smartphone usage habits driven by gaming, video streaming and AI-powered mobile applications.

According to leaked specifications, the smartphone could feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, potentially becoming the first Vivo Y-series device to support such a high refresh rate.

The handset is also expected to include a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, alongside 90W fast charging support designed to offset the impact of the oversized battery.

Reports suggest the Y600 Turbo may be a rebranded version of the iQOO Z11, another battery-focused smartphone launched earlier in China.

Industry experts say smartphone manufacturers are increasingly competing on battery performance as innovation in traditional smartphone design begins to slow across the global market.

The launch also highlights intensifying competition among Chinese smartphone brands seeking to dominate the mid-range premium segment through aggressive hardware upgrades and high-capacity battery technologies.

Analysts believe devices offering multi-day battery life could gain strong traction in developing markets such as Pakistan, India and Southeast Asia, where power reliability and heavy mobile usage remain major consumer concerns.

Vivo has yet to officially confirm global availability details, pricing or launch timelines for international markets.
