Pakistan to Launch ‘Tech Connect Portal’ to Link Overseas Experts With Local IT Industry

ISLAMABAD

The Pakistan Software Export Board has decided to launch a new “Tech Connect Portal” aimed at connecting overseas Pakistani technology professionals with local IT companies to strengthen exports, investment and global business partnerships.

The portal, being developed under the supervision of Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, is expected to serve as a digital bridge between Pakistan’s growing technology sector and Pakistani tech experts working abroad.

Officials said the initiative is designed to help local IT firms access international markets through mentorship, strategic partnerships and networking opportunities facilitated by overseas Pakistani professionals.

According to the ministry, the Tech Connect Portal will support business collaborations, foreign investment opportunities and knowledge-sharing between Pakistan’s domestic tech ecosystem and global technology networks.

Authorities believe the platform could help Pakistani software houses and startups expand their international footprint while attracting new foreign clients and investors.

The initiative is also expected to promote emerging sectors including artificial intelligence, fintech and cybersecurity, areas that officials say are becoming increasingly important for Pakistan’s digital economy ambitions.

Officials added that overseas Pakistani experts would also play a mentoring role for local youth, entrepreneurs and startups by sharing global market expertise and technical experience.

The Ministry of IT described the portal as an important component of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation strategy aimed at strengthening the country’s position in the global technology industry.

Technology sector analysts say overseas Pakistani professionals represent a major untapped resource for Pakistan’s IT industry, particularly in areas such as export development, venture funding and international market access.

The initiative comes as Pakistan’s IT industry continues to emerge as one of the country’s fastest-growing export sectors, supported by increasing software exports, freelancing growth and startup ecosystem expansion.

Officials said the Tech Connect Portal is expected to improve technology transfer, expand international business linkages and further integrate Pakistan’s tech industry into the global digital economy.
