LAHORE
The Punjab government has moved to expand citizen facilitation under its Digital Punjab initiative by placing 252 public services from 18 departments online through the e-Biz portal.
Officials said the government plans to add a further 48 services to the platform by April 15, continuing efforts to streamline service delivery and reduce reliance on manual processes.
A high-level meeting chaired by the Punjab Chief Secretary reviewed progress on the portal, noting that 44,519 applications have been received so far, of which 40,854 have been approved through the digital system.
Participants were also informed that all services under the “Maryam Ki Dastak” programme have been integrated into the e-Biz portal, with No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and permits now being issued with QR codes.
The Chief Secretary directed authorities to fully digitise all government services and phase out manual systems, as senior officials including the Additional Chief Secretary and Punjab Information Technology Board chairman attended the meeting, alongside divisional and district administrations via video link.
