The Islamabad administration has decided to completely digitalize the management and operational systems of all government hospitals in the federal capital following a tragic incident at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

The decision comes in the wake of the recent PIMS crisis, prompting authorities to overhaul public healthcare infrastructure to ensure greater transparency, track patient records efficiently, and eliminate systemic mismanagement.

Under the proposed digitalization framework, patient registration, emergency response coordination, inventory tracking, and medical record management across public hospitals will be shifted to an automated, centralized digital network.
