ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has held an awareness session in Sargodha to brief telecom stakeholders on the Class Licensing regime for Internet Services at the district level, as the regulator seeks to encourage wider participation and compliance in the sector.

The session, organised by PTA’s Zonal Office Faisalabad at the Arts Council, Sargodha, was attended by more than 300 participants, including existing internet service licensees and prospective applicants.

PTA Briefs Stakeholders on Licensing Requirements

PTA officials provided participants with an overview of the existing licensing framework and explained the key features of the Class License for Internet Services at District Level.

The briefing also covered applicable regulatory requirements, licensing procedures and compliance obligations for internet service providers.

A detailed question-and-answer session followed, allowing participants to raise concerns and seek clarification directly from PTA officials on the licensing process and regulatory requirements.

Industry Welcomes Direct Engagement

Participants welcomed the regulator’s initiative, particularly the opportunity for prospective license applicants to engage directly with PTA and gain a clearer understanding of the requirements for operating internet services legally.

PTA said the initiative reflects its continued focus on stakeholder facilitation, regulatory compliance and the promotion of lawful telecom operations.

The authority added that such engagement would help strengthen coordination with the telecom industry and support the development of internet services across Pakistan.

The Sargodha session is part of PTA’s broader efforts to improve awareness of licensing requirements and maintain direct communication with stakeholders at the district level.
