IT Ministry to introduce unified framework as Islamabad’s Asaan Khidmat Centre expands and new facilities planned across Pakistan
The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has decided to develop a nationwide operational framework for Asaan Khidmat Centres, paving the way for the expansion of one-window citizen service centres across Pakistan.
According to official sources, the ministry will introduce standardized operational guidelines to ensure uniform delivery of public services through Asaan Khidmat Centres, with plans to replicate the Islamabad model nationwide.
The move comes as the government prepares to expand the initiative beyond the federal capital, with Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir also being considered for the establishment of new centres.
The IT Ministry has approved the expansion of the Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Centre into Block B, a move expected to accommodate additional government departments and significantly increase the number of public services available under one roof.
Officials said the expansion will enable the centre to serve more citizens while improving access to essential government services.
The ministry is also identifying vacant government buildings in Islamabad that can be converted into new one-window service centres, with plans to rehabilitate underutilized public properties instead of constructing new facilities.
The Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Centre, which became operational on January 15, 2026, currently offers more than 60 government services, including facilities from the Passport Office, NADRA, Islamabad Police, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and several other public institutions.
Officials said the government aims to increase the number of services available at the centre to more than 100 by bringing additional departments under the one-window model.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader digital governance strategy to simplify public service delivery, reduce administrative hurdles and improve citizens’ access to government services through standardized, technology-driven service centres across the country.
