Google’s Gemini app is undergoing a major transformation, introducing powerful new tools alongside a complete visual redesign aimed at improving user experience and productivity.
According to recent updates, the app now includes advanced features such as an interactive “Canvas” workspace, allowing users to create, edit, and refine content—including code and web apps—in real time within the interface.
The update also expands access to more advanced AI models, improving reasoning, coding, and content generation capabilities, while enabling users to upload and analyze files directly inside the app.
On the design front, the overhaul introduces a cleaner, more dynamic interface with personalized greetings, improved navigation, and a restructured layout for tools and chat interactions.
Notably, the redesign incorporates modern visual elements such as gradient animations and, on iOS devices, Apple-inspired “Liquid Glass” effects—making the app more immersive and visually refined.
The changes extend across the entire app, including the homepage, chat screen, and tool access system, signaling a shift toward a more user-centric and conversational AI experience.
Industry observers say the update reflects intensifying competition in the AI assistant space, with Google positioning Gemini as a daily-use productivity tool rather than just a chatbot.
The rollout remains gradual, but analysts expect the revamped Gemini app to play a central role in Google’s broader AI ecosystem strategy.
