NADRA Expands e-Sahulat Services, Enables Child Registration and CNIC Processing at Local Franchises
Lahore
The National Database and Registration Authority has rolled out a major expansion aimed at easing access to identity services, allowing citizens to process key documentation through neighbourhood e-Sahulat franchise centres.
Under the new initiative, children under the age of 10 can now obtain B-Forms (Child Registration Certificates) directly from e-Sahulat outlets — a service previously limited to designated NADRA offices.
Wider Access Through Local Franchises
Officials confirmed that 173 e-Sahulat franchises in Lahore have been granted enhanced authority to provide a broader range of identity services. These outlets, often located within local markets and residential areas, are expected to significantly reduce congestion at NADRA centres.
In addition to child registration, citizens can now:
- Apply for renewal of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs)
- Obtain duplicate CNICs in case of loss
- Request cancellation of identity cards of deceased individuals
Improving Public Convenience
The move is part of NADRA’s ongoing effort to decentralise services and bring essential documentation facilities closer to citizens, particularly in densely populated urban areas.
By leveraging the existing e-Sahulat network, authorities aim to streamline service delivery and cut waiting times, while improving accessibility for families and individuals who may face difficulties visiting central offices.
Step Toward Digital Inclusion
Analysts say the expansion reflects a broader push toward digitisation and public service accessibility in Pakistan, where demand for identity documentation continues to grow.
The latest development is expected to particularly benefit parents and low-income households, offering a faster and more convenient route to obtaining essential identification documents.
