Google Unveils ‘Switching Tools’ to Lure ChatGPT Users to Gemini Platform

Google has introduced a new feature aimed at attracting users of ChatGPT to its Gemini platform, offering tools that allow seamless migration of chat history and user data.

The feature, called “Switching Tools,” enables users to import conversations and data from ChatGPT and other AI chatbots into Gemini, helping preserve personalization such as preferences, ongoing projects, and interaction history.

The move is seen as part of Google’s broader strategy to shift users toward its own AI ecosystem by removing one of the key barriers to switching—loss of data and context built over time.
