Pakistan NCERT Alert: iPhone Users Told to Avoid Suspicious Links, Unverified Apps

ISLAMABAD

Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team has issued a fresh advisory for iPhone users, outlining essential “dos and don’ts” to safeguard personal data and device security amid rising cyber threats.

The advisory strongly recommends users keep their iPhones updated with the latest iOS versions, warning against the continued use of outdated software that may expose devices to vulnerabilities.

Users have been urged to avoid clicking on suspicious or unknown links, install only trusted applications, and refrain from using unverified VPN services. The agency also cautioned against connecting to unsecured or unknown Wi-Fi networks, citing risks of data interception and unauthorized access.

In addition, iPhone users are advised not to ignore account-related alerts and to regularly restart their devices as a precautionary measure to maintain optimal security.

The guidelines come as part of broader efforts to enhance digital safety awareness and protect users from evolving cyber risks in an increasingly connected environment.
