Islamabad:
Pakistan’s PKCERT has issued a cybersecurity alert after successfully shutting down nine fraudulent websites impersonating the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) in a joint operation aimed at protecting citizens from phishing attacks.
Officials said the operation was carried out between February and March 2026, during which authorities identified and disabled several malicious domains that were designed to mimic official NADRA services.
According to cybersecurity officials, the fake portals were carefully crafted to resemble legitimate government websites, with the aim of tricking users into submitting sensitive personal information such as CNIC details, passport data, phone numbers, and other financial or identity-related information.
Experts warned that cybercriminals frequently deploy such phishing sites to exploit public trust in government platforms, making vigilance essential to prevent identity theft and online fraud.
Fake Domains Taken Down
Authorities confirmed the shutdown of the following fraudulent websites:
- visa-nadra-gov-pk.shafaftech.com
- visa.nadra.gov-pak.com
- visa.nadra.gov.pk-com.io
- visa.nadra.gov.pk.e-visa.pk
- visa.nadra.gov.pk.gofly.com.gofly.com.pk
- nadraverisys.com
- nadraservices.uk
- nadracardscenter.co.uk
- nadralive.xyz
Public Urged to Stay Vigilant
PKCERT and NADRA urged citizens to exercise extreme caution when accessing online government services and verify the authenticity of websites before sharing personal information.
Authorities advised the public to avoid clicking suspicious links received via SMS, emails, or social media and to ensure they are using official government platforms only.
For legitimate services, citizens are advised to use the official NADRA website and the visa portal operated by the authority.
Officials added that cybersecurity teams continue to actively monitor the digital landscape to prevent similar threats and safeguard Pakistan’s growing digital ecosystem. 🔐💻
