Google Introduces Game Trials on Google Play, Lets Users Test Paid Games Before Purchase

Google has unveiled a series of new gaming features for Google Play, including a Game Trials system that allows players to test full versions of certain paid games before deciding whether to buy them.

The new Game Trials feature enables users to play the complete version of select paid titles for free for a limited time. If players later decide to purchase the game, their progress will automatically carry over, allowing them to continue from where they left off.

Initially, the feature will roll out to selected mobile games, with plans to expand it later to Google Play Games on PC.

Buy Once, Play Anywhere

Google is also introducing a cross-platform purchase system, allowing users to buy a game once and access both its mobile and PC versions.

The company describes the model as “buy once, play anywhere.” The feature is already being introduced for titles such as the Reigns series, as well as OTTTD and Dungeon Crawler.

Community Posts for Gamers

Another addition to the platform is Community Posts, a feature that allows players to share tips, strategies, and game-related discussions directly within Google Play.

The tool is launching for dozens of popular games in English, with Google planning to expand support to more languages and additional titles in the future.

AI-Powered Gaming Assistant

Google is also rolling out Sidekick, an AI-powered in-game overlay that offers curated information and gameplay tips while players are actively playing.

The feature will initially be available for select paid games downloaded through Google Play.

More Paid Games on the Way

In addition, Google confirmed plans to expand its gaming catalog with new paid indie titles over the coming months. Upcoming games include Moonlight Peaks, Sledding Game, and Low Budget Repairs.

These titles will support both mobile and PC versions with synchronized progress across platforms, reflecting Google’s broader push to unify gaming experiences across devices. 🎮📱💻
