Fresh leaks have shed new light on the long-rumoured foldable iPhone from Apple, suggesting the device could debut in September alongside the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series, targeting the ultra-premium smartphone segment.

According to details circulating online, the “iPhone Fold” is expected to launch with three storage configurations — 256GB, 512GB and 1TB.

Leaked pricing for the Chinese market suggests the 256GB base model may start at CNY 15,999, while the 512GB variant could cost CNY 17,999. The top-tier 1TB model is tipped to reach CNY 19,999, placing the device firmly among the most expensive smartphones on the market.

A direct currency conversion would put the entry model at roughly $2,330, broadly aligning with earlier speculation about Apple’s foldable pricing strategy. However, analysts note that Apple typically adjusts global pricing rather than relying on simple exchange-rate conversions. Based on pricing differences seen with devices like the iPhone 17 Pro, the foldable iPhone could start closer to $1,999 in the United States.

Meanwhile, fresh hardware details have also surfaced. A report from South Korean tech publication The Bell indicates that Apple has ordered 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM for the device, with memory components to be supplied by Samsung Electronics.

If the leaked specifications prove accurate, Apple’s first foldable handset will target the high-end premium segment, signalling the company’s entry into the rapidly evolving foldable smartphone market dominated by flagship devices from major Android manufacturers.

The anticipated launch is expected to intensify competition in the foldable category, as Apple aims to combine its ecosystem with next-generation hardware to attract high-end smartphone buyers. 📱🚀
