An official mobile application launched to help curb inflation in the capital has become non-functional, leaving consumers unable to check government-notified prices of fruits and vegetables.
The “Durust Daam” app, introduced in 2019 by the district administration to enhance price transparency, is currently displaying an “Invalid Response from Server” message when opened, according to users.
The platform was designed to allow citizens to compare official rates with market prices and lodge complaints against overcharging vendors. It has been widely used, particularly during Ramadan, when authorities intensify price monitoring efforts. The app has recorded nearly 189,000 downloads on the Google Play Store.
The National Information Technology Board (NITB), which oversees digital infrastructure support, attributed the issue to the district administration. Officials said the app itself was functioning properly, but price data had not been uploaded.
“The application is working; the problem lies with the non-uploading of updated price data,” NITB officials maintained, adding that the responsibility for data entry rests with the district authorities.
The district administration has yet to issue a formal clarification.
The disruption has sparked concern among residents, particularly as the app serves as a key tool for monitoring essential commodity prices during periods of heightened inflationary pressure.
