ISLAMABAD, Feb 22, 2026 — Pakistan’s telecom sector recorded a 31.6 per cent increase in revenue between 2022 and 2025, reaching Rs1,075 billion, according to a performance report presented in the Senate.
In a written reply submitted on behalf of the Cabinet Division, the government informed the upper house that the sector has shown steady growth over the past three years, reflecting expanding digital connectivity and investment momentum.
The report, covering the performance of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the broader industry, said overall investment in the telecom sector rose by 8.8pc during the period, while foreign direct investment surged by 67.2pc.

The sector contributed Rs402 billion to the national exchequer over the past three years, underlining its fiscal significance to the economy.
Local manufacturing of telecom-related devices also witnessed robust growth, increasing by 101.5pc, according to the written response.
Broadband penetration continued to expand, with subscriber numbers rising 18.1pc between 2022 and 2025 to reach 150 million. Of these, 141.4 million are 4G subscribers, the report added.
The figures point to sustained growth in Pakistan’s digital infrastructure landscape, even as policymakers weigh further reforms and spectrum expansion to meet rising data demand.
