Islamabad
Indus AI Week begins tomorrow in the federal capital, sending what organisers describe as a clear signal that Pakistan’s artificial intelligence ambitions are moving from discussion to execution.
Hosted at the Jinnah Convention Center, the multi-day event brings together global AI experts, local startups, policymakers, students and industry leaders, aiming to organise the country’s long-cited digital potential into a functioning national ecosystem.
For years, Pakistan’s technology narrative has focused on a young population, a growing freelance economy and an appetite for innovation. Stakeholders say Indus AI Week represents a turning point, where potential is being translated into coordination, collaboration and momentum.
The programme lineup reflects that ambition. Key initiatives include AI for Her, an Industry Expo, a National AI Training Bootcamp, a Technology and Innovation Hub, Indus eSports Champion, the AI Wrapper Competition (AWC), AI Week x Global Game Jam, GovTech and DefenceTech Showcases, and a Cloud Credit Sprint aimed at supporting startups and developers.
Organisers say the focus goes beyond panel discussions, with hands-on training, competitions and showcases designed to connect academia, industry and government. The goal is to build long-term capacity, talent pipelines and policy alignment in emerging technologies.
With thousands of participants expected from across the country, Indus AI Week is being positioned not merely as a conference, but as the starting point of a new phase in Pakistan’s AI and digital journey — one centred on action rather than aspiration.
