Google photos rolls out AI Feature for personalized memes

Google has rolled out a new generative AI feature in Google Photos that allows users to turn themselves into memes, marking one of the company’s most playful uses of artificial intelligence to date.

The feature, called “Me Meme,” enables users to insert their own photos into popular meme templates using AI. At launch, the tool is available only in the United States, with no timeline announced for a global rollout.

According to Google, Me Meme uses generative AI to create customized, humorous images based on user-selected templates. Google Photos offers a built-in gallery of meme formats, while also allowing users to upload their own images as templates.

Users can access the feature by opening the Google Photos app, tapping Create, and selecting Me Meme. After choosing a template and adding a personal photo, the AI generates a meme that can be saved, regenerated, or shared directly from the app.

Google has not disclosed whether additional customization options will be introduced in future updates or when the feature may expand to other regions.

The launch reflects Google’s broader push to integrate generative AI into everyday consumer products, blending personal content creation with automation as tech companies compete to make AI more accessible and entertaining for mainstream users.
