Chinese smartphone maker Tecno has unveiled the Spark Go 3, a new entry-level handset aimed at cost-conscious consumers, combining enhanced durability with basic artificial intelligence features at a sub-$100 price point.
The device comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and improved drop protection, a notable addition in the budget segment where durability is often limited. While the water resistance is modest, the dust protection is designed to make the phone more resilient in harsh and dusty environments.
The Spark Go 3 features a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a specification more commonly found in higher-priced devices. Tecno is offering the phone in four colour options: Aurora Purple, Galaxy Blue, Ink Black and Titanium Grey.
Powered by a Unisoc T7250 chipset, the handset is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with support for expansion via a microSD card. It runs Android 15 out of the box and includes Tecno’s Ella AI assistant, which the company says will help users with everyday tasks, though detailed information about its AI capabilities has not yet been shared.
In terms of connectivity, the Spark Go 3 supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and includes a USB Type-C port. On the camera front, the phone offers a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Video recording is expected to be limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second.
The handset is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging, aligning with typical expectations in the budget category.
Tecno has priced the Spark Go 3 at $99 in India for the single 4GB/64GB variant. Industry observers expect pricing in Pakistan to be similar, particularly if the device is assembled locally, as Tecno continues to expand its footprint in the country’s growing budget smartphone market.
The launch comes as Pakistan’s mobile phone manufacturing sector shows signs of growth, with increased local assembly helping keep handset prices relatively affordable. With a focus on durability, display performance and entry-level AI features, Tecno appears to be positioning the Spark Go 3 as a competitive option for first-time smartphone users and those seeking a low-cost, reliable device.
