Zong strengthens commitment to digital education through partnership with knowledge platform

Pakistan’s leading telecom and digital services provider Zong has deepened its commitment to digital education by extending its strategic partnership with Knowledge Platform, aiming to expand technology-enabled learning for underserved communities across the country.

The collaboration, now entering its fourth year, was formalised at a signing ceremony at Zong’s headquarters and builds on the company’s flagship Digital Scholars Programme, which focuses on bridging educational gaps through data-driven and interactive learning models.

Under the initiative, Zong has introduced digital classrooms for Grade 9 and 10 students, combining gamified content, AI-powered analytics and structured online learning to personalise instruction and improve student outcomes. The programme also equips teachers with digital tools and blended learning techniques, shifting classrooms towards modern, technology-supported education.

By the end of 2025, the Digital Scholars Programme had enrolled around 35,000 in-school students, supported 5,000 young women through digital literacy and financial skills training, and certified 7,500 learners, according to the company. Zong plans to extend the programme in 2026 to reach an additional 50,000 students nationwide.

Since its launch, the initiative has expanded to 300 schools across 42 cities in five provinces, offering online mathematics tutoring, self-study programmes in English and science subjects, and the “Sitarey” digital learning games and competitions. More than 150 teachers have also been trained to integrate digital instruction into classrooms.

“At Zong, sustainability is about enabling long-term social and economic progress through technology,” said Andleeb Aslam, official spokesperson at Zong. “The Digital Scholars Programme reflects our commitment to strengthening education with future-ready skills for students and educators, while creating scalable and lasting impact.”

Education experts say such public-private partnerships align with Pakistan’s broader Digital Pakistan agenda, which seeks to leverage technology to improve access, quality and equity in education.

With its latest expansion, Zong aims to position digital learning as a key driver of inclusion and human capital development, extending the benefits of connectivity beyond communication and into classrooms across Pakistan.
