Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will unveil the Redmi Turbo 5 Series in China on January 29, expanding its performance-focused smartphone lineup with two models — the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max.
The company announced the launch date through posts on Weibo, while also offering an early glimpse of the series’ design. Alongside the smartphones, Xiaomi is set to introduce the Buds 8 Pro and the Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition, signalling a broader ecosystem-driven launch event.
According to Xiaomi, the Redmi Turbo 5 Series features a CNC-machined metal frame, rounded edges and a fiberglass rear panel, combining durability with a premium aesthetic. The devices also include a dual LED flash, reinforcing their modern design language.
The high-end Redmi Turbo 5 Max will be available in Ocean Breeze Blue and Sunrise Orange, with the latter already showcased by the company. The bold colour options appear aimed at younger, performance-oriented users.
On the hardware front, Xiaomi confirmed that the Turbo 5 Max will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset. It will also house a 9,000mAh battery, one of the largest in its segment, paired with 100W wired fast charging to support extended usage with minimal downtime.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Series is expected to strengthen Xiaomi’s presence in the upper mid-range smartphone market, where performance, battery life and fast charging continue to drive consumer demand.
