Islamabad:
Pakistan’s 5G rollout moved a step forward as the second phase of the spectrum auction began at the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) headquarters on Thursday.
PTA Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez ur Rehman, along with board members and senior officials, formally launched the bidding process. The first round of the second phase has started, focusing on the 2600 MHz spectrum positioning.
Officials said the opening round will last 15 minutes, with all three telecom operators participating online in the bidding process.
The assignment stage will determine the final placement of spectrum blocks, a key step before telecom companies move closer to launching 5G services in Pakistan. 📡
