Samsung has begun teasing its upcoming Galaxy S26 series, hinting at major camera improvements, particularly in zoom photography and low-light video, ahead of an expected launch on February 25.
In newly released teaser videos, Samsung showcases extreme zoom shots beyond 10x, suggesting significant upgrades to its telephoto camera system. The company noted that AI-generated backgrounds are used, indicating a stronger role for artificial intelligence in image processing.
Leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, alongside a 10MP 3x telephoto camera, aiming to deliver sharper zoom images with minimal quality loss.
Samsung also teased improved night video performance, highlighting brighter and clearer footage in low-light conditions. The S26 Ultra is rumored to include an upgraded 200MP main camera with a wider f/1.4 aperture, which could significantly enhance night photography.
The standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ are expected to receive minor camera upgrades, possibly a 12MP 3x telephoto lens, though some reports suggest Samsung may retain existing hardware.
The Galaxy S26 lineup is expected to launch globally in late February, with sales likely starting in March. Samsung is expected to use Snapdragon and Exynos processors in different regions, though official specifications remain unconfirmed.
