Punjab Launches ‘Green Property Certificate’ to Curb Land Fraud, Digitize Records

LAHORE:

Punjab authorities have launched a new online verification system called the Green Property Certificate, aimed at protecting citizens from land fraud and simplifying property transactions across the province.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan presided over the launch ceremony, which was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Muhammad Ahmar Ali, Assistant Commissioner Ashfaq Rasool, Land Records Center In-charge Muhammad Asif, GIS Manager Luqman Haider, and other officials.

Officials said the new system will allow citizens to verify property ownership and documentation digitally, helping prevent fake documents and land disputes while reducing the time and cost involved in property verification.

The Punjab government said the initiative is part of broader reforms to digitize land records and improve transparency in property dealings, making the process more secure and accessible for the public.

Separately, DC Rizwan also visited the local vegetable market to review auction procedures, supply and demand conditions, and wholesale pricing.

During the inspection, she directed authorities to ensure strict compliance with official price regulations and ordered that rate lists be prominently displayed for consumers.

Rizwan warned traders against hoarding or creating artificial shortages, stressing that the government will take immediate legal action against violations.

She emphasized that ensuring the availability of quality food items at fixed prices remains a top administrative priority.
