Pakistan’s information and communication technology (ICT) export remittances rose 19.78% to $2.61 billion during the first seven months (July–January) of FY2025-26, compared with $2.18 billion in the corresponding period last fiscal year, reflecting continued momentum in the country’s digital services sector.
On a year-on-year basis, ICT services exports climbed to $374 million in January 2026, marking a 19.5% increase from $313 million recorded in January 2025.
With cumulative exports of $2.61 billion between July 2025 and January 2026, the ICT sector outperformed all other services segments, emerging as the largest contributor to services exports. “Other business services” followed at $1.21 billion during the same period.
Industry analysts say the sustained growth highlights the expanding global footprint of Pakistani tech firms, supported by rising demand for software development, IT-enabled services, and digital transformation solutions.
The strong performance underscores the increasing importance of the ICT sector in Pakistan’s economic landscape, as policymakers aim to further boost exports and attract foreign investment into the country’s growing digital economy.
