Pakistan is set to host its premier in-person AI-driven game development competition as the Indus AI Game Jam opens registrations for artists, programmers and game designers from across the country, officials said on Thursday.

The high-intensity build event will take place at the Jinnah Convention Centre, bringing together creative and technical talent to develop next-generation AI-powered games in a fully physical, on-site environment. Unlike remote hackathons, participants will work face-to-face under time pressure, competing for a prize pool of Rs1 million.

The event is being organised under the Indus AI initiative with the support of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and the Center of Excellence in Gaming & Animation (CEGA), reflecting the government’s push to promote artificial intelligence, gaming and digital creativity as emerging economic sectors.

Organisers said the game jam aims to nurture innovation, strengthen Pakistan’s gaming ecosystem and position local developers at the forefront of AI-enabled entertainment.

Registrations for physical participation will close on February 5, with limited seats available due to venue capacity. Further details and registration information are available at indusai.gov.pk

The Indus AI Game Jam is part of broader efforts to connect young talent with cutting-edge technologies and accelerate Pakistan’s digital economy.
