Pakistan Post will complete its nationwide digital transformation by January 2027, marking a major overhaul of the country’s postal services as part of broader efforts to modernise public-sector operations and meet international service standards.
Officials said the Ministry of Communications has launched the Automation of Post Office Project, a flagship reform programme financed by the Export-Import Bank of Korea. The initiative aims to replace Pakistan Post’s largely manual and paper-based processes with a fully integrated digital system.
Under the project, post offices across the country will be equipped with modern IT terminals, secure connectivity and specialised software. The plan also includes extensive training for postal staff, along with long-term operational and maintenance support to ensure sustainability of the new systems.
Once implemented, the reform is expected to deliver end-to-end digitalisation across Pakistan Post’s entire network. Core functions such as mail handling, parcel tracking, financial services and internal administration will shift to real-time, automated workflows.
Officials say the digital overhaul will improve efficiency, enhance transparency and significantly reduce service delays and manual errors. By enabling real-time processing and centralised data sharing, the project is expected to modernise Pakistan Post’s operations and improve service delivery for customers nationwide.
