Pakistan, Microsoft Explore AI, Cloud Collaboration to Boost Digital Transformation

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja held a strategic meeting with David Frantic, Regional Business Head at Microsoft, to explore potential collaboration across key areas of Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda.

According to officials, the discussions focused on artificial intelligence skilling and capacity building, expansion of cloud infrastructure, and strengthening digital governance frameworks to support public-sector modernization.

The two sides also examined ways to support startups and innovation, alongside initiatives aimed at empowering youth through technology-driven training programmes. The engagement highlighted the growing role of global technology firms in Pakistan’s digital economy.

Officials said the meeting reflects the government’s broader push for public-private partnerships to build a resilient digital ecosystem, enhance workforce skills, and accelerate technology-led economic growth.

The collaboration aligns with Pakistan’s long-term vision to leverage cloud computing and AI to improve service delivery, foster innovation, and create new opportunities for young professionals in the country’s expanding tech sector.
