Pakistan Completes Third Round of 5G Spectrum Auction

Pakistan successfully concluded the third round of its 5G spectrum auction on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation, officials said.

Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima emphasized transparency and collaboration throughout the process. “We have ensured complete transparency in the 5G auction,” she said. “The 600 MHz spectrum auction has been successfully conducted with the cooperation of all relevant institutions.”

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman announced the results of the third round, highlighting strong demand across key frequency bands. “All five lots in the 2300 MHz band have been fully booked,” he said. “Similarly, the 2600 MHz band has also been entirely subscribed. Overall, 480 MHz out of a total 597 MHz spectrum has been successfully allocated.”

The completion of this auction positions Pakistan to accelerate 5G rollout across the country, promising enhanced connectivity for consumers and businesses alike.
