Pakistan has activated a locally developed automated web monitoring system to safeguard its government web infrastructure amid rising cyber threats.
The National CERT Directorate announced that continuous surveillance has begun for over 1,500 government websites and applications, allowing real-time detection of cyberattacks including website defacement, script injection, and data leaks. The system can immediately alert relevant authorities, enabling swift response to protect critical digital assets.

According to officials, the monitoring program covers:
- Federal government: 407 websites
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 282 websites
- Punjab: 209 websites
- Sindh: 174 websites
- Balochistan: 108 websites
- Gilgit-Baltistan: 51 websites
- Azad Kashmir: 133 websites
- Private sector: 119 websites
- Banking sector: 44 websites

This initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader effort to strengthen cybersecurity and ensure that its digital infrastructure remains resilient against growing online threats.
Officials emphasized that the advanced system provides automatic alerts as soon as suspicious activity is detected, making it possible to take immediate action to mitigate risks and protect sensitive data.
