Islamabad International Airport has become the first airport in Pakistan to introduce 5G connectivity, marking a significant step forward in the country’s digital infrastructure, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced.

Passengers at the airport can now access ultra-fast 5G internet, enabling seamless live streaming, high-quality video calls, and faster browsing speeds. The development is aimed at enhancing passenger experience through next-generation connectivity.

Officials said 5G services have already been activated in areas surrounding the airport, while technical work is underway to ensure full and improved coverage inside the terminal building.

The initiative is part of a broader plan to modernise airport services and align Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure with global standards. Authorities added that similar 5G facilities will soon be introduced at other major airports across the country.
