Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) has formalised a strategic partnership with GlowBug Technologies (GBT) under the Cyber Innovation Ecosystem (CIE) initiative, in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s cyber resilience framework.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at National CERT headquarters in Islamabad, marking what officials described as another step toward enhancing Pakistan’s digital security infrastructure through public-private collaboration.
The agreement was signed by Khurram Javed, Director Capacity Building at National CERT, and Zeeshan Bokhari, Chief Executive Officer of GlowBug Technologies, in the presence of senior representatives from both sides.
Under the partnership, GlowBug Technologies will serve as a Technology Innovation Partner within the Cyber Innovation Ecosystem (CIE), contributing to cybersecurity capacity-building initiatives, particularly within the academic sector. The collaboration will focus on technical cooperation, structured training programmes and the development of innovative solutions to counter emerging cyber threats.
Officials said the initiative reflects a shared vision to align industry-driven technological solutions with national cybersecurity priorities. The partnership also seeks to promote knowledge exchange between government, academia and private sector stakeholders.
The Cyber Innovation Ecosystem serves as a collaborative platform connecting government institutions, technology firms, academic institutions and innovators to collectively strengthen Pakistan’s digital defence architecture.
National CERT officials reiterated their commitment to building a secure and innovation-driven cybersecurity ecosystem, noting that partnerships with domestic technology firms play a critical role in enhancing national preparedness against evolving cyber risks.
